Diagnostic Vision Testing, Fuquay-Varina & Garner
At Johnson Optometric Associates, we invest in cutting edge diagnostic technology. In the 1970s, we were the first eye care practice in Wake County to use an automated refractor – the instrument was the size of a kitchen table and the lens operating system made a rattling sound on difficult prescriptions. But the standard of vision care has changed dramatically in the last 30+ years, and Johnson Optometric has stayed on top of the curve!
Our Diagnostic Vision Technology
To offer the best in glaucoma care, we have an imaging laser (optical coherence tomographer or OCT) in each office, which helps us to treat this difficult disease. For retinal disease, the OCT is the best in detecting and treating various eye disorders, including macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Our Fuquay-Varina office has the newest OCT, the Cirrus, which is used by the top retinal specialists.
We also have a visual field analyzer in both the Fuquay-Varina and Garner offices, which not only helps us manage glaucoma, but also helps in detecting neurological, retinal and other peripheral vision issues.
Other diagnostic technologies that we use include topography, pachymetry, frequency doubling perimetry, external and fundus photography.
