Dr. Rachel Jhala was born in Sacramento, California but grew up in Lumberton, North Carolina. Dr. Jhala received her Bachelor of Science at East Carolina University within three years. She then completed her Doctor of Optometry from Pennsylvania College of Optometry/Salus University and graduated in 2021. Dr. Jhala completed part of her clinical rotations at the Durham VA hospital and Womack Army Medical Center in Fort Bragg.

Dr. Jhala joined Johnson Optometric Associates in 2021. She has an interest in ocular disease and emergency eye care. Dr. Jhala enjoys painting/drawing, baking, traveling, gardening with her dad, and spending time with her pet chickens.
