New Patient but felt at home…….
June 25, 2021
By Nancy Giambalvo

I recently moved here and crossed my fingers hoping I would get a great Doctor.

And I did…..!!! Great Doctor and supporting cast through the exam to frame selection.

I was not rushed and felt great after the whole experience. Thank you……!!!

Long time patient

I remember Dr Hammond when he used to have more hair (and so did I! LOL!), and there was no gray! That should tell you all you need to know about this practice. Why would anyone go to the same practice unless they were doing things right by their patients. I pray the Lord will continue to bless their practice!

Overall Happy – Concerned With Scratched Glasses
June 17, 2021
By Ray Capek

I am a first time patient seeing Dr. May. Overall with my visit went well. However, when the technician took my glasses out of the exam room to confirm what the prescription was, my glasses were returned to me with scratches. Hopefully I will be able to have this situation corrected ASAP.

I will keep this short and sweet. This is a fantastic eye office. The staff and doctors are friendly and very knowledgeable. We have been with them since we moved to Raleigh,NC. But maybe the highest review and our thought about this Optometric can be summed up by this simple statement. Even though we will be moving an hour away from Raleigh shortly. WE WILL CONTINUE TO RETURN TO JOHNSON OPTOMETRIC ASSOCIATION when ever we need eye care!

Hesitant to Go Back
June 11, 2021
By Leah

I have been a longtime patient off and on for years (went to Dr. Johnson all growing up) and I hadn’t had an exam in over 5 years, so decided to go back. I went to the Garner office in early April. The first thing that upset me was that the office staff who opened the door for me told me I wasn’t supposed to bring my 7 month old baby with me. I found that very silly, seeing as she is a young baby, and may need to nurse while waiting while I was there. They said they would make an exception, but normally not allowed (because of Covid). Having no other childcare for that morning, I think that is ridiculous to say a parent cannot bring their own child (who was incredibly well-behaved). I then had to wait for about 30-45 minutes to be called back. My actual exam went well, but it wasn’t 100% clear whether I would need glasses or not. So the Dr. said I could go look at frames (so I assumed that meant I needed them). So I then went to look at frames, which took quite awhile. Once again, the staff helping me didn’t make it clear to me that I actually needed them. My insurance covers a certain frame amount, and she didn’t show me the ones that my insurance covered. I almost ended up spending over $500 on glasses and sunglasses that I didn’t actually need. I left and ended up calling back to confirm what the Dr. said about needing glasses or not, and I’m so glad I did. Turns out that I didn’t need them, and I wish they had been a lot more clear about that. Seemed unprofessional to try to get me to spend money I didn’t need to and not show me frames my insurance covered. Not sure if I will return. I left disappointed.

First Visit Less Then Stellar

Yesterday was my fist visit to Johnson Optometric Associates. I chose the office mainly because of the good reviews. After I arrived and checked in, I waited 20 minutes in the waiting room. When I got called back to the examining room, I was given some eye tests, had my eyes dilated and was told the doctor would be right in. I continued to wait and, to be fair, someone did come in and say the doctor was running behind and that it would be a few minutes. A few minutes turned into a good 45 minutes…sitting in a room alone! When Dr. Clinard finally arrived, she apologized for the wait (almost as if it were only a matter of a few minutes) and said they had referred two patients for surgery that morning. After that, the exam went extremely well. Dr. Clinard explained my results very thoroughly and touched on some things that I hadn\’t even thought to ask. I ended up choosing frames and went away satisfied that I\’d been pretty well taken care of. However, I spent 2.5 hours at the office and a good hour of that was spent waiting. It does make me a little apprehensive, but I\’m hoping that my experience was the exception rather than the rule.

First time patient at Johnson Optometric and saw Dr. Clinard. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Dr. Clinard and her staff explained each step of the exam. Very pleasant experience from the time I walked in until I left after selecting new glasses. I highly recommend Johnson Optometric.

Professional Service

If you’re looking for quality service and professional-grade care, go to Johnson Optometric Associates. I’ve been going there since I moved to the area in 2002 and hold the doctors and staff in the highest regards. I’ve seen Dr. Martin for the last two visits. He is professional and personable. I could go to a box store eye center for less money, but my eyes are really important to me! ! So I cut corners somewhere else…like forgoing that occasional meal out. 🙂 In addition, the staff helping me select the “just right” glasses know their stuff! And I know they are there for repairs if need be. One last compliment. I am probably most appreciative of their steps to keep everyone Covid 19 safe.

First Time visit

Yesterday was my husband’s and my first visit. We are new to NC and Fuquay Varina. The staff was excellent from the front desk to the exam rooms. Everyone was professional and yet personable. The rooms were clean and equipment was sanitized before it was used on us. Dr Clinard explained our plan of care in easy to understand terms. She stopped and asked if we had any questions frequently. We ordered glasses and the optical staff was also professional and very helpful. They explained what our insurance covered and did not. So far very satisfied with the excellent care provided.
