Some of the Office staff should not be working with the public

My family has been going to this office for many years. 4 out of 5 family members wear glasses and or contacts, so we have literally spent thousands of dollars here. All has been well until the last 4 visits (last couple of years) . The last 4 times I have had trouble with the staff interpretting my insurance, resulting in either overpaying or having to jump through hoops to get the correct price. The last visit, my wife took my son for contacts and glasses and they overcharged us $234! They acted like it was only $20. Some were helpful others in the office were NOT.(I think her name is Lara) is rude, loud, and uncaring. They finally voided the charge, but it took almost a week before the money was out back into my account. I have overheard (will waiting on appts.) some of the staff (including Lara) talk unprofessionally about patients after the leave. I have wondered what they say about me when I leave. The Doctors here are really good and I hate to take my business elsewhere, but the doctors are only a piece of the service. Its a shame. Naver going back.

Mr. Blankenship, We apologize for the inconvenience concerning the overcharge with your glasses purchase. The mistake in your charges was not intentional but due to our front desk person not being aware of your insurance material benefits for glasses. This has been corrected. I was informed that a refund was applied to your debit card within minutes of when it was discovered. My understanding is that your bank's policy when using a debit card is not to refund the credit to your account for 2-3 business days. I am a new patient and was very impressed with my experience at Johnson Optometric. I arrived a few minutes early and my eye exam started right on time. The exam was very thorough and the doctor set down and discussed the results and options with me. The person who assisted me in selecting my frames was very helpful and patient in helping me select the right frames. Would highly recommend Johnson Optometric!

Dr Hartman is so patient and kind, a soft spoken doctor who seems to manage by just appearing. I love his detail and thoroughnes…He never seems to be in a hurry and he makes me feel as if he is truly interested in my case.

The staff in the office are so friendly. No one is rushing you out of the office. All the staff is so personable. Dr. May is so nice and he takes his time with you. I travel a long distance to come to this office. It is well worth it!

I recently relocated to Fuquay and a friend recommended this practice. The office staff was very friendly and helpful. The appointment started on time. Dr. Martin was very knowledgeable and personable. The exam was very thorough. Stacey helped me find a pair of glasses very quickly and efficiently (the best experience I have ever had in picking out a pair of glasses). She asked me what I liked, then found about 8 pairs to match my description, and we found the perfect ones. I did not have to spend time looking at the many samples! I highly recommend this practice. I will return next year for my annual checkup.

New Patient Appointment was with Dr. Martin on July 25, 2014. Overall I would say the appointment itself went very well. Dr. Martin took the time to discuss his background and how he approaches things with regards to his patients. He and his assistant were professional and courteous, and the front desk staff were very friendly and inviting upon arrival.

Since this office does not offer the same brand of contacts I have been wearing for many years, Dr. Martin understood my concern with changing. He explained the various types of contacts that could be substituted for what I currently wear. He even gave me a pair to take home and try for a couple of weeks before ordering a full set.

With that said, I was disappointed in the fact that same evening of my appointment, after my dilation had subsided, I had a problem with one of the new contacts. It appeared either I was given two right side contacts or simply the incorrect prescription because after inserting the contact, my sight wouldn’t come into focus. I left a voicemail regarding my issue and to please have someone call me. Now just over two weeks later I have yet to receive a return phone call from the office.
