My daughter and I both had an appointment at the Garner office. My daughter is 7 years old and she had an eye exam and a fitting for glasses. The doctor was patient, thorough, and explained everything in detail. Ava had a few questions and the optometrist was more than happy to help in any way he could. Her glasses took a few weeks to come in (her insurance takes 3 weeks to make the glasses) and of course she was a little impatient. When we went in for her fitting, Jim helped Ava with her new glasses and showed excellent customer service.

I had an eye exam the same day as my daughter’s fitting and the nurses and optometrist were so sweet, explained everything in detail and even gave attention to my daughter so she wasn’t bored. Dr. Barrett Martin had seen me at the Fuquay office about 4 years ago and remembered me from that long ago. I would definitely recommend Dr. Barrett to any patients! I’ve actually referred my roommate to their office.

Side note: I had recently lost my job and had applied for the Lion’s Club scholarship for financial assistance with an eye exam and glasses. I submitted my application about 2 1/2 earlier and was approved within 2 weeks. I had my appointment set up, glasses ordered and expecting to receive them within the week. So, if you’re in a financial bind and need assistance, apply with the Lion’s Club. They were quick to approve, schedule my appointment and had everything taken care of within a month!

I’m grateful for Dr. Johnson Optometrics and will be sharing how great their office is with my friends and family! Thank you again Dr. Martin and team!

Dr. Hammond and the entire staff were professional and provided excellent care. Dr. H gave me what was probably the most thorough,complete eye examination I’ve ever been given. And the front desk staff was courteous and efficient. Well done, everyone!

I was a patient of Dr. Hartman but since he retired, I saw Dr. B. Martin today and I was well pleased with

him. He is very kind and patient and explains everything very well and seems to be very knowledgeable

about all aspects of ophthalmology.

Very comfortable waiting environ, only had to wait a couple minutes after completing the initial paperwork. EVERYONE in the crew was most friendly, attentive and efficient. Very friendly which helps in the comfort level for patience. The details of what they were doing, why, and what to expect were VERY impressive, as were the details the doctor went to with the entire visit. VERY special.

It is incredibly nice to call the JOA office and talk with a real, personable and professional human being as a new patient. I called for an appointment 4 business days prior to today and got an appointment scheduled very quickly. I also like being able to grab a copy of the new patient forms off their web site and fill them at my leisure before walking into the office. Once I arrived this morning, I only had to wait about 3 minutes before I was called. The initial work-up was quick and the steps and equipment was clearly explained to me. I then went to the room for some more questions and initial testing which was also quick but thorough. The nurse left and the doctor (Dr Martin) came in to complete my eye exam and he clearly described what he found, and then discussed my options. I’m now waiting for my new reading glasses to come in, but I can assure everyone reading this review that I now have a new eye doctor. Thank you Dr Martin and staff of JOA.

I recently had my first appointment with Dr. Martin at Johnson Optometric Associates. He was very thorough, knowledgeable, and spent all the time needed. Beyond Dr. Martin, the whole staff there was excellent and went above and beyond providing the best service I have ever had at an Optometric office (and I have had good service in the past at other offices). Great service and care!

I can not say enough good things about this office…The staff is friendly, informative, and makes you feel right at ease and home. Dr. J is the absolute best.
