5 Star all the way. Have been going to Dr. Hammond for the last 7/8 years and the treatment from Dr. Hammond and all Johnson personnel has always been excellent.

Dr. Hammond has been my doctor now for I believe 8 yrs. I had been going to the garner office but moved to Fuquay Varina last December. I recently found out that he had a office here. He’s staff at both location and very professional and friendly. The only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 was when I made the appointment I was not told about the policy change when it came to payment. I had always waited till my glasses was ready and made the payment then. But over all I was satisfied

Dr. Martin LISTENED very well to my explanations of how I was assessing my eyesight over the 12+ years of Type 2 Diabetes. A rather painful eye test conducted more than 8 years ago kept me from wanting another eye exam but my GP insisted on it and recommended the Johnson organization. It seems that my GP knew his stuff and no burning of the eyes was experienced and all of the eye pictures were shown and explained.

This is my third year with Johnson Optometric and Dr. May in Garner. Have had nothing but a great experience. When my mother’s eye care provider retired, I brought her to this practice and it is 4 hours round trip to get her there.

This was my first eye exam! The staff and doctor were impeccable. Gentle, informative, patient and cordial. The office environment is warm and comfortable. Conveniently located in the office is a full eyeglass retail store – nice. Since this was my first experience, I have nothing to compare against. But, from what I encountered, you have to give this practice a high-five on customer care and delivery of effective health services! Tell them John sent you!

Dr. Johnson and recently Dr. Martin have been taking care of my eyes and also the eyes of my 90 year old mother and 89 year old mother-in-law as well as my husband. Yes we have had to wait some times but we understand that some patient problems need more time than others. I can say that when we get into the exam room, we are given a thorough exam and get explanations to our satisfaction of the new problems that have occurred since our last visit. These doctors are professional, knowledgeable, kind and compassionate. We have had several emergencies over the years. They have worked with us to take care of these situations in a timely manner.
I highly recommend this practice.

Some of the Office staff should not be working with the public

My family has been going to this office for many years. 4 out of 5 family members wear glasses and or contacts, so we have literally spent thousands of dollars here. All has been well until the last 4 visits (last couple of years) . The last 4 times I have had trouble with the staff interpretting my insurance, resulting in either overpaying or having to jump through hoops to get the correct price. The last visit, my wife took my son for contacts and glasses and they overcharged us $234! They acted like it was only $20. Some were helpful others in the office were NOT.(I think her name is Lara) is rude, loud, and uncaring. They finally voided the charge, but it took almost a week before the money was out back into my account. I have overheard (will waiting on appts.) some of the staff (including Lara) talk unprofessionally about patients after the leave. I have wondered what they say about me when I leave. The Doctors here are really good and I hate to take my business elsewhere, but the doctors are only a piece of the service. Its a shame. Naver going back.

Mr. Blankenship, We apologize for the inconvenience concerning the overcharge with your glasses purchase. The mistake in your charges was not intentional but due to our front desk person not being aware of your insurance material benefits for glasses. This has been corrected. I was informed that a refund was applied to your debit card within minutes of when it was discovered. My understanding is that your bank's policy when using a debit card is not to refund the credit to your account for 2-3 business days.
