My immediate family has received vision care from Johnson Opto. for about 30 years, and we have no reason to consider going elsewhere. We see Dr. Hammond and have always been pleased by the level of care provided.

I chose to see Dr. Martin, since I taught him music in high school, and he and the office staff were attentive, professional, and most helpful! I was not disappointed and know I am in good caring hands!

First visit at this office for the wife and I. She has mobility and memory issues so we scheduled both our appointments to be 20 min apart. Staff was excellent on check in as we filled out the necessary paperwork. The assistants were professional and well trained. Dr Hammond saw both of us and we received the most thorough checkup we have ever had. Due to he wife’s medical issues, he needed to spend extra time with her. He was patient and throughout the entire process. I was really impressed with the way he and his assistant worked together.

Check out was quick and professional.

All in all, a great visit. Highly recommend this place.

A few days ago, Dr. Hammond and his staff performed a thorough and professional eye exam on me. They took their time, were very courteous, and ensured that all aspects of my vision were properly assessed.

At the end, Dr. Hammond found that my current eyeglasses were sufficient and that, while there were some changes to my left eye (for which a corneal transplant was performed when I was 20 years old), they were insufficient to warrant new glasses. When do you find that with other offices?

To summarize, I can not laud Dr. Hammond and his staff enough for their professionalism and personal care of me, as their patient. Thank you for reading this review.

When I made the appointment and when I arrived I stated that the only thing I wanted was an eye examination in order to get a prescription for new contacts and glasses. Again, when I heard the doctor say to his assistant “we will do this test” I interjected no, we will not. I just want a prescription so I can order the new products. I thought I was abundantly clear. Imagine my surprise when I was still charged for more than the examination!! I was charged for a contact examination when I had stated I was going to order new ones! Every time I was asked about an addition, I declined, apparently that wasn’t enough I left the office feeling ripped off and brushed off (the doctor, who was very late, ran out of the office before I had a chance to ask questions). Very disappointed in an office that places Bibles in several places and proclaim to be Christian. I may well choose another office next year.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you had a negative experience at our office and would love to fix any problems if something was billed incorrectly or there were any misunderstandings. We are also sorry that you didn't receive the time that you felt you deserved from the doctor. We are blessed to be a very busy practice, and sometimes that gets overwhelming, but it is no excuse for not giving you the time that you should have. The review is a bit unclear, though... If you needed to order contact lenses, then we will have needed to perform a contact lens evaluation in order to write a new contact lens prescription. This is standard everywhere. We can't release a contact lens prescription without doing a contact lens evaluation. We also do provide for you to leave a name with your review so that we can contact you if needed. We will look at also having an option to leave an email address. We appreciate your feedback and hope to resolve your issues soon.
